闫连山教授，博士生导师，信息光子与通信研究中心主任。国家杰出青年基金获得者，教育部长江学者特聘教授，IEEE光子学会杰出讲席奖(Distinguished Lecturer Award)获得者，四川省学术与技术带头人，四川省计算机学会网络与信息系统专委会主任，信息协同与物联网工程省高校重点实验室主任，软件定义网络与数据空间联合实验室主任，曾任IEEE Photonics Journal（SCI二区）副主编(Associate Editor, 2009-2014)。
<br>1994年毕业于浙江大学光电系，博士毕业于美国南加州大学（University of Southern California, Los Angeles)，发表论文350余篇，其中SCI收录200多篇，包括7篇特邀综述论文；H-指数27（Google Scholar引用3000余次，SCI他引800余次）；国际会议特邀报告30多次，任共同主席或委员20多次；拥有13项美国和22项中国发明专利。
<br>曾在华北光电技术研究所从事激光技术研究 (1994-1999)。2005-2007期间在美国通用光电公司(General Photonics)担任高级研究员(Senior Scientist)，后任首席科学家 (Chief Scientist)。<br>2008年初受聘为西南交通大学特聘教授，担任信息光子与通信研究中心主任。
