张荃(1911-1959)
字荪簃，揭阳籍，出生于北京。其外祖父为揭阳著名学者桐城派古文家姚梓芳先生（1871-1952,号秋园）。张荃幼得到外祖父的钟爱，长大后，张荃入揭阳一中读书,再考入杭州的之江大学文理学院（浙江大学的前身），师从著名的词学家夏承焘先生（1900-1986）,专攻诗词。1934年大学毕业后,张荃先后在浙江的甬江女子中学和广州的培道女子学校任教，1941年应聘重回母校之江大学任教，1945年转为厦门大学讲师，1946年前后，张荃去了台湾，先在一家糖厂任管理员，后任教于台湾师范学院和台湾大学。1951年，张荃与同为揭阳籍的著名地质学家陈恺（1902-?，民国时期任中央研究院地质研究所研究员，曾应饶宗颐先生的邀请主修《潮州志•地质志》）结婚，随陈恺到马来西亚，在马来亚大学中文系任教，1959年张荃在吉隆坡病逝。
张荃大学时跟随词学大家夏承焘先生研习词学，并在夏先生的指导下，专门研究南宋词人刘克庄（1187—1269,号后村），这个课题伴随张荃的一生。其最早的研究成果，是1933年6月在之江大学《中国文学会集刊》发表的《后村长短句考证》，这篇文章被认为是“20世纪刘克庄研究的发轫之作”。而她最有名、被提及最多的著作，则是《刘后村先生年谱》。《潮州艺文志》著录的张荃著作，就只提到这一部。其实，这是一篇文章，发表在《之江学报》第I卷第3期（1934平5月出版），共26贞.后来不知道有没有印过单行本。《刘后村先生年谱》可以说是张荃词学研究的成名作和代表作。此后张荃一坚持对刘克庄的研究，到了台湾之后，还发表过《刘后村满江红词七首笺》。
香港科技大学工业工程系教授
张荃教授，毕业于浙江大学, 获美国西北大学博士，现为香港科技大学工业工程系教授。张荃教授一直致力于供应链管理方面的研究, 善于洞察该方向国际前沿的研究热点和研究难点，已取得国际同行承认的创新性学术成果。近年来发表数十篇学术论文，其中十多篇发表在Operations Research, Management Sciences 等相关领域国际顶尖学术期刊上。主持美国国家自然科学基金项目两项, 香港自然科学基金项目四项。
Rachel Q. Zhang is Professor in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences in 1994 from Northwestern University and was previously a faculty member in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at University of Michigan, and the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Her research interests lie in the general area of operations management and the interface of operations, finance and marketing. Her research has appeared in such journals as Operations Research, Management Science, Interfaces, IIE Transactions, Naval Research Logistics, and Advances in Applied Probability. She received an honorable mention in the INFORMS Nicholson Paper Competition in 1994 and an early-career award (CAREER) from the US National Science Foundation in 1995.
She co-chaired the MSOM Conference in June 2000, served as an MSOM cluster co-chair for the INFORMS National Meeting in Fall 1998, and the program chair for the 2006 IFORS conference. She also served as a member of the INFORMS Nicholson Competition Award Committee, the MSOM Student Paper Competition, Junior Faculty at INFORMS Paper Competition Committee, POMS SCM Student Paper Competition and a panelist for the National Science Foundation in 2000. She also chaired the IIE Transaction (Scheduling and Logistics) Best Paper Award and is currently the Chair of the IIE Pritsker Doctoral Dissertation Award. She was the secretary of INFORMS Women in OR/MS during 1999-2000.
